Our fine art reprint of an original engraving showing the Right Honourable William Pitt after the oil painting by Hoppner. Pitt became the youngest UK Prime Minister in 1783, at just 24 years of age. He was a close friend of William Wilberforce and prepared the way in Parliament for the abolition of the slave trade. In the early 1800s he led Britain through the Napoleonic wars. The portrait shows Pitt as a charismatic man in his forties, cutting a dash in the Regency fashion of his day.
